2008: #53 – Murder on the Links (Agatha Christie)
Book #53 was Murder on the Links, the second Hercule Poirot mystery by Agatha Christie. The back of the book reads:
An urgent cry for help brings Poirot to France. But he arrives too late to save his client, whose brutally stabbed body now lies face downwards in a shallow grave on a golf course. But why is the dead man wearing his son’s overcoat? And who was the impassioned love-letter in the pocket for? Before Poirot can answer these questions, the case is turned upside down by the discovery of a second, identically murdered corpse . . .
It’s hard to find anything wrong with an Agatha Christie story. I listened to the BBC production, and I have to say that it was one of the weaker ones… It’s narrated by Poirot’s roommate, and I’m not sure if that’s a device of the audio production of a device of the novel itself. It was also very short. So it wasn’t my favorite Agatha Christie, but really not too bad.
